In One-Punch Man Chapter 132, Terrible Tornado once again gets a power-up, and it looks like she might put Psychos down for good.
After merging with Lord Orochi, Psychos -- the true mastermind behind the Monster Association -- got an incredible power boost, which allowed her to batter Tatsumaki/Terrible Tornado with ease. In each chapter since then, the two have exchanged grievous blows, only to have their opponent come back stronger than before. The most recent time Terrible Tornado seemed outmatched, Genos arrived to the battle to unleash his newest upgrade against Psychos and buy his ally some time. And as the fight continues in Chapter 132, Terrible Tornado reveals she had another power-up in reserve.
At the start of Chapter 132, Genos unleashes his True Spiral Incineration Cannon, which Psychos matches with a blast of her own. However, Terrible Tornado uses her psychic abilities to split up the blast and free the various heroes that she'd bubbled before destroying the Monster Association HQ. While Genos goes down from the effort of fighting Psychos, Terrible Tornado reveals freeing those heroes will enable her to focus more on the fight at hand -- meaning she she's only now approaching full power.
As the battle continues, Terrible Tornado becomes more powerful than ever before, and her sister -- Blizzard -- wonders, "Is her psychic ability limitless?" Terrible Tornado then starts twisting Psychos and the very city over which they're fighting, wringing the blood out of her opponent. Meanwhile, the various heroes on the ground are forced to fend for themselves and escape the chaos and carnage. Psychos, for her part, doesn't seem to have any defense against Terrible Tornado's new power. In the final moments of Chapter 132, Terrible Tornado looks posed to kill Psychos and put an end to the god-empowered threat for good.
Each new battle in One-Punch Man reveals a whole slew of powers for the manga's various characters. However, Terrible Tornado's performance this time around really does make one wonder what the upper limit to her power is, and how she might fare if faced with an opponent like Saitama. Terrible Tornado's psychic abilities are incredibly formidable, and it's clear that she's significantly more powerful than even the best S-Class heroes, which makes her a force to be reckoned with. The question is now not just whether anyone can beat Saitama, but if anyone can best Terrible Tornado.
The next chapter of One-Punch Man will release Sept. 30 from Viz Media.
