Fire Force's investigation into the Great Cataclysm closes with explosive action and some dangerous revelations.
Fire Force closes its investigation into the Great Cataclysm and uncovers more details about the menacing Evangelist, as Shinra's battle with Tempe hits breakneck speeds. As Shinra and the Woman in Black share an Adolla Link, the two discuss the Woman's past and the longstanding danger that the Evangelist and her plan pose to the world.
With Tempe and Ogun still duking it out and the Woman in Black's time running short, she grants Shinra one second of Adolla Grace to help him defeat the demon and preserve the forest. Shinra has achieved this Grace once before during his fight against his little brother Sho, and implements it with a similar effect here as he reaches incredible speeds.

Tempe grovels at the Evangelist's feet, believing her to be God, and begs for the type of joy his money and status brought him. With a menacing smile, the Evangelist unleashes one of her insects, which imbeds itself into Tempe's chest, turning him into an Infernal. Back in the present-day, Shinra asks the Woman in Black if she, like the Evangelist, came from the Adolla world too since he senses a similarity between them. However, the Woman in Black states she was initially a human enkindled with an Adolla Burst from the Evangelist's insects.
Shinra and the Special Fire Force know that the Evangelist is working behind the scenes to reach her goal of engulfing the world in flames with a new Great Cataclysm. She has been orchestrating it since at least the first cataclysm over 250 years ago, but the Woman in Black reveals things could have been set in motion much earlier than that. The Evangelist may have been manipulating humanity since ancient times, constructing various "Gods" to pull the strings of history.
With their mission complete, Shinra rejoins Ogun, Tamaki, Juggernaut, Arthur, Licht and Lieutenant Pan as they say goodbye to Scop and Yata to return to Tokyo. On the return trip, Shinra dreams of the First Pillar and remembers the hatred he felt from her when she possessed him earlier in the season. With the new-found knowledge that the Amaterasu is powered by sacrificing Adolla Burst users, specifically the First Pillar, Shinra and Licht agree that the Holy Sol Temple is hiding something. Shinra then wonders if the First Pillar's hatred stems from the fact that she may have been an unwilling sacrifice for the sake of humanity.
The gospel of the Holy Sol Temple tells everyone that Raffles I and his followers found an unsullied flame and combined it with the technology humanity created to form the Amaterasu. If human sacrifices are the real source of the Amaterasu's incredible energy, then the Holy Sol Temple and the Evangelist could be working together to hide this truth, and possibly other secrets as well. As Shinra and his fellow Fire Soldiers continue to delve into the mysteries of human combustion, they may need to focus their efforts inward at the Holy Sol Temple.
